The Regional Feminist School is an annual programme convened by Takatoat at the regional level. The School is held over seven to ten days, and is designed to foster knowledge exchange on feminist topics and issues, and facilitate networking among emerging feminist activists. The School was first piloted virtually in 2021, with a focus on activism against gender-based violence. The scope of the School grew in 2022, physically gathering the School’s cohort to retreat and dive into feminist education foundations, with participatory dialogue sessions dedicated to the history of feminism, feminist ideologies, feminist values and approaches, and tools for mobilisation. The School’s curriculum and facilitation methodology builds from intersectional feminist knowledge resources and the enrichment of the thoughts and experiences of attendees, following a participatory, feminist approach.
